Decision Gates

Gates are automated decision points that evaluate signals against configurable thresholds. Under constrained observability, gates may be satisfied via multiple evidentiary paths.

Corroboration Paths

The selected policy requires one or more of these evidence paths. Balanced policy requires two:

  • Cross-source diversity - Confirmed by multiple independent sources
  • Temporal persistence - Persists over a defined time window
  • Independent convergence - Multiple sources arrive at the same conclusion independently
  • Outcome evidence - Confirmed or contradicted by at least two independently identified reviewers after an observable outcome

Gate Outcomes

  • Allow - Quality and coordination boundaries pass, and the policy's required corroboration paths pass
  • Hold - Evidence is incomplete or one policy boundary requires analyst review
  • Reject - Insufficient quality and excessive coordination occur together; this is not a truth judgment

Manual Override

Authorized users can override gate decisions with a reason. All overrides are logged for audit purposes.
